The Dutch baritone Vincent Kusters is a much sought-after concert and lieder singer who feels at home in both oratorio and opera and has a great affinity with classical song.

He studied singing and piano at the Conservatory of Maastricht and as part of the Erasmus program at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg (DE). He completed both studies with a master's degree. In 2018 he also completed the application course for choral conducting at the Utrecht Conservatory.

Vincent successfully participated in international master classes with celebrities such as Elly Ameling, Robert Holl, Ulf Bästlein, Vesselina Kassarova, Roberta Alexander, Sergei Leiferkus, Julius Drake and Charles Spencer.

Vincent has won many prizes for his song interpretation, including the Vocallis Liedprijs (Vaals NL, 2017 and 2018) and is the winner of the Schumann Wettbewerb (Zwickau DE, 2020/2021). Together with his duo partner pianist Charlie Bo Meijering, he won the “Friends of the IVC” prize ('s-Hertogenbosch NL, 2019), and twice the first prize in “Liedkunst im Schloss vor Husum” (DE, 2021 and 2023), the “ Young Artist Platform” of the International Song Festival Zeist (NL, 2021) and the prize for “Best Interpretation eines Schubert-Liedes” during the Internationalen Lied-Wettbewerbes Bolko von Hochberg (Görlitz DE, 2022). He also won first prize together with organist Nick Goudkuil during Internationaler Wettbewerb für Orgel und Gesang (Neuss DE, 2020).

All this led to countless performances at home and abroad, including during the renowned Oxford International Song Festival(GB). Vincent is also a returning singer at the International Lied Festival Zeist (NL) and the International Lied Festival Vocallis (NL).

Vincent has a preference for romantic song, especially Schubert, but feels at home in all styles, including contemporary song. He therefore works closely with composers, some of whom have even dedicated songs to Vincent. He is a member of the Schola Maastricht, an ensemble specialized in Gregorian chant, and is organist/conductor of the St. Bartholomeus Church in Eckelrade. He is also a cantor/organist at the St. Martin's Church in Gronsveld.

In 2023, Vincent founded a foundation for the art of singing, the J.M. Vogl-stichting. Named after the famous singer, friend and supporter of Schubert, the foundation aims to provide a platform for the art of singing, in particular song, and to support promising talents in their careers.
